Meet Chris Mobley, Modernism Week CEO
Modernism Week is an 11-day festival that highlights midcentury modern architecture, art, interior and landscape design, and vintage culture in the Palm Springs area of Southern California. Since 2012, Chris Mobley has been a driving force for the organization that produces the annual event. He started off as a Board Member, and was elected Chairman in 2013. Under his guidance, Modernism Week, garnered an unprecedented amount of media attention with more than 2.75 billion impressions worldwide in 2017. It now features two events: the four-day Modernism Week Fall Preview, held annually in October, and the 11-day festival in February. While serving as Chairman, Chris was instrumental in the creation of CAMP (Modernism Week’s Community And Meeting Place), the on-site headquarters for tours and events during the 11-day event. He has also overseen significant improvements to Modernism Week’s web site and ticketing systems, which provides information about the more than 350 events attended by more than 100,000 modernists.
Last year, Chris became Modernism Week CEO. In this new role, he will continue to craft the Modernism Week attendee experience, guiding the organization as it matures and working with partners to create new events.
